KUHN has an extensive range of round bale wrappers, including three-point linkage mounted models through to advanced trailed units capable of wrapping 100 bales/hour with six layers of film.
RW 1410/1610
The mid-range versatile units are the KUHN 1410 and 1610 trailed wrappers. The M version is controlled by three cable levers, whereas the C version is computer controlled, allowing the full wrapping process to be automated. The RW 1610 can carry a second bale on the loading arm during wrapping to speed up collection and wrapping. The table itself features two rollers and four wide belts to provide guidance and stability for the bale during wrapping.
Twin satellite arms and pre stretchers accommodate a 750mm roll of film. The ribbed profile of the aluminium rollers keeps air and water away from the film, while the location of the pre-stretchers makes it easy to change the film rolls. The standard pre-stretch of the film is 70%.
As an option above the single stretch application, KUHN’s e-TWIN wrapping can save users 50% on wrapping time and up to 8% on film costs thanks to a higher pre-stretch of 90%. e-TWIN uses two standard 750mm film rolls that rotate simultaneously. The two film layers are pre-stretched and stick together to form one stronger layer, with a higher pre-stretch ratio. The conical rollers are positioned to glue the two film reels together with a 2/3 overlap before they leave the pre-stretcher unit. The result is tightly wrapped bales, with less oxygen, creating better quality forage and greater tear resistance, while increasing output and reducing film use.
RW 1810
The highest capacity machine is KUHN’s RW 1810, with an AUTOLOAD system that detects bales as the machine approaches. The loading arm is integrated to the wrapping table, allowing the bale to roll onto the table, rather than be dropped. The table features two rollers and four wide belts to provide guidance and stability for the bale during wrapping. The whole process can be automated, reducing operator fatigue.

A boost function on the double satellite wrapper increases speed to 40rpm when driving at 5kph or faster. This means 100 bales/hr is possible with six layers of film applied. INTELLIWRAP is a customisable feature to control film overlap and layers required to match crop conditions and storage. Wrap layers can be changed between 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 layers and maintains efficient film placement regardless of layers. If the operator requires 5 layers of film, the first 3 layers will overlap by 67% and the last two layers will overlap by 50%.
3D wrapping is similar to the system used on KUHN’s combination baler wrapper models. The pre-stretcher units turn horizontally to ensure the total film quantity is uniform across the entire surface of the bale. It wraps the cylindrical area of the bale first, which helps exclude air and ensures bale shape is maintained during long periods of storage. Furthermore, the vulnerable bale shoulders are protected better than conventionally wrapped bales. The VT 30 3.5” colour touchscreen allows users to control and alter the wrapping process from the cab.
