Stubble cultivators with multipurpose tines

The CULTIMER L 5000 produces an intensive mix of soil and straw

Adapted to every need

The CULTIMER multipurpose stubble cultivators offer exceptional stubble quality thanks to three actions in one single pass:
  • The teeth play the role of stubble cultivating, loosening and mixing the soil. With their curved shape and twisted deflectors, they perform a homogeneous mixing of soil and residue. The crop residues are uniformly distributed over the entire working width to promote better decomposition. The large clearance between the teeth and between the rows reduces any risk of blocking even in the presence of large amounts of residue.
  • The levelling discs ensure a good distribution of the straw and level the surface before the roller passes over. The levelling discs ensure consistent quality of work even in stony conditions. The CULTIMER M 100, L100 and L100R ranges can be equipped with levelling blades. This economic alternative is perfect for performing stubble cultivation in light to medium soils.
  • The rollers make it possible to efficiently consolidate the soil to retain moisture and improve the soil-seed contact, thus promoting good germination. Depending on the consolidation required, KUHN offers a complete range of rollers, from light to heavy, to best adapt to the working conditions.

Exceptional work quality

The penetration capacity of the CULTIMER is incomparable thanks to the positioning and curvature of the tines. The power requirement is less than a straight tine while guaranteeing optimal mixing.
With its twisted deflectors, the CULTIMER offers a perfect distribution of soil and residues, creating the pefect environment to accelerate the decomposition of the straws.
The quality of work is maintained in all conditions with undercarriage clearance of 85 cm. The spacing between the teeth prevents blockages and ensures good performance in residues even at high speed.
Like the CULTIMER L 300, the CULTIMER range offers a homogeneous soil/straw mix

Soil penetration guaranteed

The tine is the centrepiece of the CULTIMER; it must be perfectly stable even in hard soil. The Non-Stop Mechanical (NSM), double spring safety device gives 600 kg pressure at the tip. When tripped, the vertical clearance of up to 30 cm allows the obstacle to pass through and the tine quickly returns to the work for a quality stubble cultivation even on stony ground. Maintenance costs are reduced and work rate increased with fewer releases. The Non Stop mechanical safety ensures improved comfort, since there's no change of part required.
The CULTIMER M and L100 / 100R ranges can be equipped the Safe-T safety device, traction bolt tines. As an economical alternative, the Safe-T safety device is ideal for stone-free light soils.
The 3,000 kg of pressure at the tip prevents unexpected releases. Traction bolt safety is more effective and easier to replace than a shearbolt safety.

Optimum user comfort

Simple adjustment of the working depth of the CULTIMER

Simple adjustments

The CULTIMER range benefits from simple and fast adjustments to allow the user to make gains in work rate and comfort. The working depth is very easily mechanically adjusted with shims. For convenience, continuous hydraulic adjustment is available as an option.
The levelling devices have a centralised crank adjustment and the outer discs are laterally adjustable for even more precise levelling.
The discs or levelling blades are coupled to the roller. So, even if the working depth varies, there is no need to change the levelling adjustment.

Reduced maintenance for better profitability

Maintenance time and cost should be taken into account when buying a stubble cultivator. The CULTIMER range has been designed to minimise maintenance to make your investment profitable.
The welded design and the materials used ensure unparalleled robustness in the CULTIMER frame. Whether you choose tines with NSM or Traction bolt safety, you can be sure of the high reliability and low maintenance.
The NSM (Non Stop Mechanical) tine requires no maintenance or lubrication.
The Safe-T safety device bolt replacement is quick and easy to replace to minimise downtime.

Priority given to operator comfort

The CULTIMER L 1000 can be hitched on the lift arms. This facilitates manoeuvres at the headland and increases your work rate.
The drawbar extension offers a steering angle of 110° regardless of the tractor used. For users looking for an unrivalled quality of work, optional front gauge wheels and floating drawbar allow for perfect countour following. The guage wheels and roller are available with hydraulic adjustment for improved comfort of use. These options are essential for professionals looking to fine tune on the move.

Equipment to suit all requirements

The 80 mm point and carbide wings exploit the full potential of the CULTIMER

Points to match your needs

Choosing the right share is essential for obtaining the optimal result. For shallow stubble cultivation, the 350 mm goosefoot share ensures the entire width is worked. This is ideal for creating a seedbed and encouraging voluteer seeds.
For a deeper stubble cultivation of 7 to 15 cm, choose the 80 mm point equipped with 350 mm wings (480 mm for the CULTIMER M). The wings allow for an intensive mix of soil and residue.
For deep restructuring of the soil and the incorporation of large quantities of residues, the 80 mm point can be used without wings, up to 35 cm deep. The 80mm point comes as standard with a 20% longer life points. It is also available with tungsten carbide with eight times more wear reserve than a standard point.
Finally, for low disturbance, a 50 mm point is available which reduces the traction power and prevents bringing up large clods.

Soil levelling

The levelling and distribution of residue is important to ensure rapid decomposition. The consolidation quality of the roller depends on the levelling quality of the soil before it.
The levelling discs, mounted on elastomer blocks, guarantee effective levelling even in a high presence of stones and residues.
Levelling blades are available on the CULTIMER M 100 and the CULTIMER L 100 / 100R. They are ideal for working in light and medium soils and are a good alternative to discs
Maintenance-free, the centralised adjustment offers greater comfort and precision.

A full range of rollers

Quality consolidation is essential for successful stubble cultivation. KUHN offers a full range of rollers for effective consolidation of the soil. Depending on your soil type, you will find the right roller for your needs:
  • Tube roller: economical and light, this roller ensures that the machine holds well on light to medium soil (only available on trailed models)
  • T-Ring roller: ideal for loamy soil, it is light but aggressive on clods and straw. It leaves a coarse finish to avoid capping.
  • T-Liner roller: This roller keeps the aggressive profile of the T-Ring, but it is better adapted to stony and wet conditions.
  • V-Liner roller: This roller ensures very good crumbling and levelling in all types of soil. It is not recommended in stony conditions.
  • Packliner roller: Ideal for heavy soil, this rubber tyre roller guarantees maximum surface consolidation.
  • HD-Liner 600: This V-shaped profile enables heavy soils to dry faster. This heavy roller has good consolidation capacity at depth and across the entire width of the roller.
The CULTIMER L 4000 equipped with the HD-Liner roller with a strong consolidation capacity.

SOIL HEALTH BONUS FROM COST CUTTING SOLUTION Farmer

Cutting the cost of cultivations was the key driver for arable farmer Chris Marchment when he parked his plough for the final time 12 years ago.
Farming 80ha near Andover in Hampshire, just to the south of the North Wessex Downs, he faces the challenge working with clay-capped soils with flints. Under a conventional cultivation regime, the cost of wearing metal and excessive diesel use had become unsustainable, so he turned to a non-inversion minimum tillage system.
