50% less scraping

GF 13012 and GF 17003 models produce high work output with their 12 and 16 small diameter rotors respectively. They have the GSC (Ground Save Control) system which enables them to follow the ground like a 4-rotor tedder with 50% less ground scraping*!

Find a dealer near you

GF 13012 and GF 17003 models with their 12 and 16 rotors respectively produce high work output. You can reach speeds of up to 15 ha/h with the GF 17003 model. Both models guarantee high output, optimum tedding quality and excellent ground following with the GSC (Ground Save Control) system. Ground scraping is reduced by 50% which means that the tedded crop is less contaminated by impurities and drying time is shorter, resulting in nutrient preservation in the forage. All of the crop on the plot dries out uniformly so you can harvest it at the ideal time to get high quality forage!

Your benefits

The GSC innovation for forage quality

The GSC (Ground Save Control) system

50% less scraping*

GF 13012 and GF 17003 tedders follow uneven ground just like smaller width models. The GF 17003 works like an eight-rotor tedder for example, or four tedders with four rotors.
The exclusive GSC (Ground Save Control) system largely contributes to the great ground contour following. The linkage system has an oblong hole which allows the arm that the rotors are attached to, to move independently from the frame. The rotors are guided by the contours in the ground rather than by the main frame.
Exceptional features:
  • The exclusive GSC (Ground Save Control) system allows the rotor-set to move independently from the main frame.
  • In work mode the weight of the chassis rests on the large transport wheels.
  • The small diameter rotors adapt to the terrain and the main frame independently to guarantee fully effective crop inversion and faster drying of the crop.
  • The wheels are positioned very close to the tines in order to reduce the amount of crop contamination in the swaths and ensure long tine life.

Small rotors, big results: 33% faster drying time

Experts are convinced. Small rotors produce better quality forage. According to the Weser Ems Chamber of Agriculture in Germany, they provide 33% faster drying time. The experts from the DLG (Agricultural techniques organisation) say that small rotors provide complete crop inversion and produce uniform grass distribution. View the test results!
Experts are convinced and those who use them swear by them. For farmers whose goal is to harvest a first class crop there are so many advantages to having small rotors:
  • Working with a wide angle of attack while turning the crop
  • Fast and uniform drying.
  • Fully effective crop inversion.
  • Uniform distribution.
  • Exceptional ground adaption.
  • Mounted tedders with less overhang to reduce lift requirements.
  • Reduced power requirement.
The individual rotor joints, identical spacing and asymmetrical tines ensure that all the forage is tedded, even when it is long or dense and on uneven ground. Adjust pitch angle in just 2 minutes (no tools required) to adapt to the quantity of forage.

Integral pick-up with asymmetrical tines

Asymmetrical tine length with longer outer fingers produces high quality tedding. The outer finger moves into the forage earlier compared to a symmetrical design. This ensures a more complete tedding operation, even on field borders and between rotors (C) (E), due to better tine overlap in this tricky area. Moving into the forage earlier means that the actual working width of each rotor (therefore the machine) is larger.

Quick and easy manoeuvres

The GF 13012 in HLC (Headland Lift Control) position

Pass over ditches and manoeuvre at headlands with ease

Benefit from the HLC system that raises the rotors at headlands. Your central rotors will reach a height of 50 cm and the outer ones will rise even higher.
You'll feel more confident and gain work output with these easy and manouverable teddersl:
  • Reverse into pickets and corners.
  • Headland turns made easy.
  • Acess multiple fields without folding the machine. Ditches are no longer a problem!
The high ground clearance of the rotors prevents any forage build-up when passing over larger swaths.

Every road becomes a main road

No need to extend your storage shed. The extremely compact design of the 17 m GF 17012 model means that it takes up no more space than certain 10 m tedders on the market!
On the road comfort is a must!
  • Width and height are no larger than the tractor.
  • Easy access to fields thanks to the shorter length, the position of the wheel-set and the high rotor clearance.
With special transport wheel-sets (according to road traffic regulations) poor roads and long distances are not a problem:
  • The rotors are not exposed to vibrations during transport.
  • Perfect weight balance.
  • Excellent road handling and safety, even at high speeds.
GF 10012 extremely compact

Great folding kinematics

Folding and unfolding is very quick and simple with the control box.
Down-time from changing fields is greatly reduced and daily output maximised.

Maintenance easy, adjustments simple

adjustment of the pitch angle

Centalised pitch angle adjustment

Tine height in relation to plant stubble is adjusted from the centre of the machine, in the same way as a 3-point linkage attachment on a mounted machine.
For easy adjustment of the pitch angle, partially raise the rotors.

DIGIDRIVE: revolutionise tedding

When a KUHN engineer invented this drive concept, tedding entered a new era.
From that moment on, it became possible to drive a very large number of rotors and fold them to an incredibly compact size, and all this without any maintenance. A real revolution!

The guidance is done large-diameter, double-row angular ball bearings (1). Thoroughly sealed to prevent lubricant leakage and impurities getting in (2). Robust mounting on the rectangular frame with spacers and long through-bolts (3). With these rotor housings, greasing points are limited to a few pivot points, allowing you to spend more time in the field and less doing maintenance!

Since the launch of the DIGIDRIVE finger drive system twenty years ago, more than a million rotors have been working all around the world, tedding forage with exceptional reliability. The DIGIDRIVE system is made of case-hardened steel and requires no maintenance.

Crop deflectors for clean wheels

Operating in young sugar-rich crops or long late-season crops can be a challenge. Forage can get wrapped around the wheel columns resulting in downtime spent cleaning it off. Benefit from crop deflectors, for models from GF 5902, that prevent forage getting wrapped around the wheel columns.

A clever design

The two sections are held in place by straps that reduce stress on the main frame and rotor structures.
Being attached to the rotor extremities, the two sections remain perfectly stable with no oscillation. The straps also double up as safety guards, replacing the traditional metal guards that are often heavy and complicate folding operations. The straps automatically wind up for transport mode like a car safety belt.
