The operating principle of belt mergers? The fodder is lifted by pick-ups and then delivered gently without losing leaves through crumbling and without impurities and stones in the fodder. The result is fodder with excellent nutritional value that will optimise your profitability.

The range of trailed belt merger consists of two standard models, the MERGE MAXX 762 and the MERGE MAXX 952, as well as two ISOBUS models for greater comfort and functionality, the MERGE MAXX 952 ISOBUS and the MERGE MAXX 1092 ISOBUS.

KUHN's wide range of belt mergers meets the needs of every type of farm. Whether you are a contractor or a machine cooperative looking to optimise your harvesting chains, performance and work output, or an individual farmer seeking to improve fodder quality, you are sure to find the machine you need.
With their adaptable pickup widths of 5.50 m up to 10.95 m, these mergers can rake up to 20 or 30 m of fodder. Thanks to their delivery of uniform windrows, the following harvesting machines can work at a high speed and gain up to 3 kph compared to conventional windrowing systems.
THE MERGE MAXX mergers are also characterized by maximum versatility, both in the delivery options and in the ability to rake any type of fodder: light or heavy, dense or sparse, short or long arable or permanent meadows, straw or whole crops, maslin, hay,...). In particular, they are recommended in delicate fodders to harvest the full nutritional value of legumes.

Your benefits

Even windrows for easier uptake

Increased work output

Your harvesting equipment can work at faster speeds when picking up even windrows. At constant speed, drivers have less operating stress:
 • No slowing down for dense areas.
 • No accelerations for sparse areas.
They also concentrate on what is important rather than having to worry about groundspeed.
With the MERGE MAXX belt mergers, you also reduce the peaks in operating stress put on harvesting machines. The users attest to increasing working speeds up to 3 kph! You too can improve all-round productivity.
Less soil and stones in the windrow reduces wear to the intake system and operating costs.

The pick-up and WINDGUARD reel optimises uptake

Fodder is taken in by the pick-up and guided by the WINDGUARD system.
The pick-up consists of five tine arms guided by a cam that optimise fodder uptake, lift and transfer to the belt in combination with the WINDGUARD reel. This consists of a guide plate and a roller that optimise fodder flow onto the conveyor belts. These two machine components enable the formation of a smooth and airy windrow.
Rotation speed of the pick-up is variable to adapt to different harvesting situations on non-ISOBUS versions and via terminal or joystick on ISOBUS versions. If necessary, when harvesting very delicate fodder, it can be reduced to preserve the leaves and the final product.
The WINDGUARD reel is adjustable for perfect adaptation to fodder volumes. A smooth transfer onto the belt is essential to obtain uniform, fluffy windrows with no twists for higher output during harvesting. On non-ISOBUS MERGE MAXX models, the standard adjustment is manual and via hydraulics on option. ISOBUS models can be adjusted from an ISOBUS terminal or joystick.
The wide belt transfers the product to the side. According to needs, the belt speed can be modified to adapt the windrow size and shape to the harvesting machines. Adjustment is made using flow regulators located at the pumps on non-ISOBUS models and via terminal or joystick on ISOBUS models.

Exemplary field tracking for high-quality pick-up

Under each unit, two large skids, articulated and height adjustable, contour the ground and guide each pick-up unit perfectly. The use of these skids provides excellent weight repartitiion on the ground, less than a 90 kg man.
For non-ISOBUS models, weight relief is applied to each pick-up unit via four powerful springs that are manually adjustable. For ISOBUS models, weight relief is applied simultaneously on both sides and in stages via hydraulics with an adjustment from the terminal.
Each pickup unit has a large pivot angle of +/- 10° and a vertical travel range of 50 cm to ensure excellent fodder uptake.

The versatility you expect!

Versatile windrow delivery

You are sure to find the configuration that suits you thanks to the multiple delivery possibilities of the MERGE MAXX.
In central delivery mode, the windrow width is adjustable up to 2.20 metres and offers perfect adaptability depending on conditions, harvesting machines, etc.
In side delivery mode, several pick-up widths can be combined on the right or left.
When turning the windrow or creating a night windrow, the user can deliver the fodder in two windrows.

To change the configuration, the control box differs depending on the model. On the MERGE MAXX 762 and 952, the KMM01 control box allows the driver to easily control the belt rotation direction, individual lift and folding-unfolding modes.
On the ISOBUS models, MERGE MAXX 952 and 1092, switching from one configuration to another is very quick and easy via an ISOBUS terminal. The following functions can be controlled: windrow delivery, belt rotation direction, deployment and transport position, etc.

Central delivery

The two distant units allow the belts to transfer the fodder towards the centre of the machine. The central windrow formed thus collects between 8 to 10 metres of fodder.
This configuration is ideal for:
 • Picking up full width laying crop
 • Picking up tedded crop
 • Picking up windrows formed by a triple mower-conditioner
 • For picking up 2 straw windrows after a combine harvester with cuts up to 8.50 metres
Windrow width can be adapted to the size of the pick-up depending on the distance set between the two units.

Side delivery

When the pick-ups are side by side and the belts are turning in the same direction, a single windrow is created of approximately 7.50 metres. It is positioned either on the right or on the left.
This delivery mode can be used when picking up full width laying, tedded crop or creating small windrows. (Picture 1)
A windrow curtain is available as an option, perfect for calibrating the fodder. The user can adjust the windrow width at any time or fold the curtain completely.
Conversely, when the pick-ups are distanced, delivery is made on both sides for windrow turning over. (Picture 2)

20 to 30 meters of fodder

The combination of several configurations offer the possibility of grouping large widths of fodder. This can be useful when cutting low volumes of fodder. Push the fodder back to optimise the load on your harvesting equipment and avoid unnecessary kilometres in the fields.
When mowing up and down with the pick-ups grouped and the belts rotating in the same direction, the fodder is delivered either on the right or on the left. The double windrow (2) is then placed either side by side or on top of each other if the pick-up is narrow. (Picture 1)
Get the best of side and central delivery by grouping 20 to 30 metres with:
 • A first pass on the way out with the pick-ups close together for a windrow on the right. (A)
 • A second pass on the way back with the pick-ups close together for a windrow on the right. (B)
 • A final pass that combines the windrows formed to create a central windrow. (C) (Picture 2)

Complex work in heavy or voluminous fodder

In the case of heavy or voluminous fodder, a single windrow may be too much. Therefore, in order not to impact the work of the harvesting machines, it is necessary to adapt the configuration by:
 • A delivery towards the centre and the side (right or left), which is useful for turning two straw windrows simultaneously. (Picture 1)
 • A central delivery towards an existing windrow combined with a side delivery that will be grouped into a windrow on the next pass. The windrow formed has thus collected approximately 6 to 7 metres of fodder. (Picture 2)

Evolutions for enhanced performance

ISOBUS compatibility for greater ease of use

Enter a new era of comfort with ISOBUS control on the MERGE MAXX 952 and MERGE MAXX 1092 models!
The mergers are controlled from the cab using an ISOBUS terminal or an AUX-N joystick. The settings menus and the work screen have been designed to be intuitive and easy to understand for easy handling and management. This means that the MERGE MAXX 102 ISOBUS can be adapted very quickly and easily to meet every need and condition.
The machine's controllable functions include: working height, individual lift, belt rotation direction, type of windrow delivery, unit suspension, WINDGUARD plate position, pick-up function and many more...

Indicators on the work screen to optimise performance

Farms face many challenges requiring the possibility to exploit the machine's performance to the maximum for achieving optimal profitability.
Indicators on the terminal's work screen allow the operator to work with peace of mind. Indeed, the speed and pressure of the conveyors and pick-ups are displayed, ensuring rapid adaptation to working conditions and optimisation of the machine's performance.
It is important to control the rotation speed of the pick-ups and conveyor belts to ensure smooth transfer of the fodder and thus create uniform and consistent windrows. To avoid wasting too much time between each plot, three modes can be configured and saved.
In addition, it is possible to choose between five ground pressure settings to ensure preservation of the ground cover regardless of the conditions.
