Built on the strength of many years’ experience in self-propelled mixer wagons, the design of the SPW Intense KUHN range combines all the expertise of a dedicated development and production competence centre for bedding and feeding. Our SPW Intense range of self-propelled silage cutters and mixers are machines designed to offer exceptional performance for individual purchase and collective use! The SPW Intense models have been designed to achieve the lowest operating cost on the market: optimised non-road diesel consumption, low maintenance costs, and high trade-in value. 
Fuel savings are ensured thanks to the combination of the 250 hp engine and the “milling head/mixing auger” hydraulics management system that prioritises where the machine’s force is required. The “automotive” drive can also be used to automatically adapt the engine speed. This range features several models to meet the needs of all farms: <ul><li>SPW INTENSE 2.CS: 14, 16 and 18 m3 with narrow body and approved at 25 or 40 kph ,</li></ul><ul><li>SPW INTENSE 2.CL: 19, 22, 25 and 27 m3 with a wide body and approved at 25 or 40 kph ,</li></ul> The VISIOSPACE cab offers unrivalled comfort in terms of space and visibility. Its market-leading traction is provided by the engine’s position on the rear driving axle, offering optimum load transfer.

KUHN SPW Intense self-propelled mixers: the joystick-controlled “automotive” drive can also be used to adapt the engine to the load, which means fuel savings.

AUTOMOTIVE motion

From an economical aspect, the SPW Intense is a machine whose running costs are among the lowest on the market. The SPW INTENSE models feature a VOLVO 6-cylinder, 250 hp turbocharged engine, a next-generation design that sprays Ad Blue into the exhaust to reduce nitrogen oxide emissions.
The more energy-intensive functions such as the loading/mixing process, distribution and transport are performed at very low engine speeds. Designed for optimum efficiency, the engine produces maximum torque and power at a low engine speed. The cylinder capacity is greater than the previous generation, providing 10% more torque. High performance is achieved at incredibly low fuel consumption levels.
For maximum productivity, maintenance schedules can be set every 1,000 hours.
The engine compartment is positioned at the rear of the machine, providing incomparable traction thanks to the load transfer. Noise reduction will also be appreciated in the cab.

VISIOSPACE cab: visibility, synonymous with safety

SPW Intense models are designed as standard with a VISIOSPACE cab with 310° side view. The left side door is 100% glazed, giving the farmer good visibility at the foot of the machine when distributing in narrow alleys. Its round shape makes it possible to view the milling head when loading the silage in the highest silos without any visual obstacles. The lower part of the cab is fully glazed, giving the driver a clear view of the milling head when loading silage at the foot of the silo. The milling head hood is hydraulically-operated from the cab and can be retracted. Its pivot point on the milling head rotational axis allows to stay totally clear from the field of vision during the loading phases. The VISIOSPACE cab is extra-low and features a built-in step. Easy and effortless access. For maximum user comfort, the SPW Intense is equipped with 6 high-power LED work lights (800 Lu). The wide windscreen is coated with a self-heating film for rapid demisting when driving inside and outside buildings. The VISIOSPACE cab comes in a choice of three interior design options (STANDARD, EDITION and ATTRACTIVE).

Unrivalled driving comfort and ergonomics designed for the driver

The joystick controls the direction and speed of the machine. This steering mode is intuitive and enables all occasional drivers to handle the SPW Intense. It is mounted on a console attached to the seat, there is no risk of the driver operating the machine incorrectly on rough terrain. Driving comfort has been enhanced. Joystick-controlled motion control also helps to reduce daily fatigue, the drivers can rest their feet and they can brake the machine more quickly in an emergency. Switches are ideally located near the joystick to activate the ancillary functions. The 5.7' KUHN VTI 60 control terminal is colour touch-sensitive. It has 4 modes, including two working modes (loading and distribution), a transport mode and a manual mode for all machine information (maintenance information, possibility of modifying certain machine parameters, etc.). Weighing management with the PTM Advance system enables 100 different rations to be produced with 90 different ingredients, as well as 50 distribution batches. For specific needs, the weighing terminal can be used to adjust a daily coefficient, program mixing times and monitor ingredient consumption. Four load cells provide feedback to the PTM Advance control unit. These load cells are positioned between the machine frame and the tub. This is the best guarantee for reliable and accurate weighing.

Respecting nutrition

Unbeatable silage cutting performance!

Fast loading is an essential criterion for a self-propelled mixer. The SPW Intense range is therefore equipped with a wide (2.00 m), powerful (200 hp) milling head that is capable of rapidly loading all types of fodder. Servicing has also been improved thanks to its bolted wear blade that is now easy to change. The 800 mm wide conveyor is equipped with an automatic tensioning system. The system ensures optimal conveyor tension at all times, no matter the external temperature conditions. The belt is equipped with a bolted junction for enhanced durability and extended service life. The drive roller, with its “cage” design, minimises clogging issues. Additionally, the conveyor's anchor point is tailored to each tub height. The entire tub volume is optimally loaded, with the conveyor outlet designed to ensure a smooth and uninterrupted mixing flow into the tub.

Variable mixing speed

The SPW Intense range is available in mixing tub volumes from 14 to 27 m3. Mixing is performed by two vertical augers, whose specific design has forged the reputation of KUHN mixers. The auger is equipped with 5 serrated knives with a position for a “pulled” cutting effect. The fibre cut is neat and clean, for optimum rumination. Asymmetric knives ensure a self-cleaning effect for sticky fodder. The last quarter turn of the auger flighting is “double” to accelerate the mixing flow when the tub is full (vortex effect). For the SPW Intense models a hydraulic engine drive system coupled with a rigid universal joint link between the two augers allows for improved fibre cutting and optimum cleaning at the end of distribution. The speed can be adjusted from 0 to 55 min-1. No maintenance required. Two hydraulic counter-knives complete the mixing and chopping system. The high-jointed counter-knives are positioned as close as possible to the passage of the knives of the mixing augers: chopping is faster and more uniform.

Distribution with unsurpassed comfort

The SPW Intense models are equipped with a wide cross conveyor positioned between the cab and the mixing tub. It can deliver the ration to the right and left-hand sides and offers excellent visibility from the driver’s position. The extra-wide distribution door combined with the variable feed conveyor speed guarantees an even feed-out. As an option, the SPW Intense can be equipped with left and right rear doors for sheds with no separate exit and secondary belts for the highest troughs.

CCI: instant fingertip control!

The driver's cab on the SPW Intense is fitted with the KUHN CCI terminal. With its colour touch screen, it centralises all functional data and information relating to weight controls. One glance at the screen gives the driver all the information needed for operation: 100% useful technology. The CCI terminal also manages machine maintenance data such as periodic servicing operations as well as all diagnostic assistance interfaces. With the CCI, you can also instantaneously adjust the speed of the milling head, the rotation speed of the mixing auger and the speed of the feed conveyor. For feed data management, the CCI can hold up to 80 rations with 15 different ingredients. It memorises up to ten feed batches by name. Data transfer via a USB port to the farm’s computer guarantees traceability of all operations.

Full suspension

A fully suspended frame, composed of two independent suspended axle shafts at the front with high clearance, and leaf-spring suspension at the rear, give the machine exceptional tractive performance. Comfort is optimal!

Manoeuvrability

For tight buildings, the SPW Intense models can be optionally equipped with a rear steering axle. Turning angles are considerably reduced as a result.

Accessibility

Positioned at the rear of the machine, the combustion engine and main components (pumps, filters, gauges, etc.) are within reach for easy maintenance.
