The design of the KUHN SPW Intense has taken on board all the nutritional considerations of modern livestock farming: correct roughage values, homogeneous mixing, quality distribution, etc. Fuel savings are guaranteed thanks to the combination of the Phase 5 250 hp engine and the “milling head/mixing auger” hydraulics management system that prioritises where the machine’s force is required. Suited to industrial farms and collective uses, the KUHN SPW Intense self-propelled mixers offer the best traction on the market. The weight distribution on the rear axle brings speed and comfort to this machine! AUTOMOTIVE motion

From an economical aspect, the SPW Intense is a machine whose running costs are among the lowest on the market. The SPW INTENSE models feature a VOLVO 6-cylinder, 250 hp turbocharged engine, a next-generation design that sprays Ad Blue into the exhaust to reduce nitrogen oxide emissions.
The more energy-intensive functions such as the loading/mixing process, distribution and transport are performed at very low engine speeds. Designed for optimum efficiency, the engine produces maximum torque and power at a low engine speed. The cylinder capacity is greater than the previous generation, providing 10% more torque. High performance is achieved at incredibly low fuel consumption levels.
For maximum productivity, maintenance schedules can be set every 1,000 hours.
The engine compartment is positioned at the rear of the machine, providing incomparable traction thanks to the load transfer. Noise reduction will also be appreciated in the cab.

VISIOSPACE cab: visibility, synonymous with safety

The surface area of the windows on the new VISIOSPACE cab has been increased by 20% compared with the previous version. This new design gives the VISIOSPACE the best visibility on the market. All obstacles to frontal vision have been removed, for maximum precision during key silo approach operations. The large door window also ensures safer driving. The whole windscreen is coated with a self-heating film, ensuring that the mixer is rapidly operational even in morning frosts, or when condensation builds up as you move from yard to barn. The windscreen is cleaned by dual wipers mounted on a 1400 mm rig, with 3 spray nozzles.

Unrivalled driving comfort and ergonomics designed for the driver

The cab interior features generous dimensions: a comfortable driving experience for this essential everyday machine. The joystick and control panel are integrated with the driver's seat, for maximum comfort, even on rugged terrain. The joystick was designed to give the driver a firm grip on the situation! First, the working mode is selected from the four possibilities (loading, distribution, transport or manual) using the switches located on the control panel. Then, the multifunction joystick controls the machine. Unnecessary machine functions are blocked... The ergonomics and flexibility of the joystick contribute to the driver's comfort. The machine's motion, hydrostatic with two speeds under load, is also controlled from the multifunction joystick. The CCI terminal, camera screen and weighing terminal are all mounted into the right-hand pillar of the VISIOSPACE cab, ensuring continuous display of all essential information with no obstruction to the driver's field of view. The user will appreciate the comfort of the VISIOSPACE cab mounted on shock mounts, and its totally soundproofed space (❬ 71 dBA). The VISIOSPACE cab comes in a choice of three interior design options (STANDARD, EDITION and ATTRACTIVE). Improved access, making it easier to get in and out of the cab safely. The footstep built into the cab floor frees up space inside for a compartment for documents. The fan power has been boosted by 50% to heat the cab more rapidly. Fan outlets are ideally placed for the driver's comfort. Ventilation, radio and indicator controls are all within easy reach, in the upper section of the cab. The cab is topped off with a protection guard to minimise the risk posed by frozen silage blocks in cold conditions.

Unbeatable silage cutting performance!

Fast loading is essential for a self-propelled mixer. The SPW Intense range is therefore equipped with a wide (2.00 m), powerful milling head (160 hp for SPW Intense from 14 to 18 m3 and 200 hp for SPW Intense from 19 to 27 m3). This allows all types of fodder to be loaded quickly. Servicing has also been improved thanks to its bolted on wearing blades that are now easy to change. The loading conveyor is now driven by a hydraulic motor at the top of the conveyor. As a result, the conveyor is drawn up by the motor which helps to centre it. The risk of premature side wear is reduced. To boost the loading rate of this new range of self-propelled mixers, the loading conveyor is 800 mm wide. The fodder flows quicker between the milling head and the mixing tub.

Variable mixing speed

The SPW Intense range is available in mixing tub volumes from 14 to 27 m3. Mixing is performed by two vertical augers, whose specific design has forged the reputation of KUHN mixers. On the SPW Intense 14 to 18 m3 models, the auger rotation speed is adjustable from 0 to 50 rpm to adapt the cutting action to the proportion of fibre in the ration. For the SPW Intense 19, 22, 25 and 27 m3 models, a hydraulic engine drive system coupled with a rigid universal joint link between the two augers allows for improved fibre cutting and optimum cleaning at the end of distribution. The speed can be adjusted from 0 to 55 rpm. No maintenance required.

Distribution with unsurpassed comfort

The SPW Intense models are equipped with a wide cross conveyor positioned between the cab and the mixing tub. It can deliver the ration to the right and left-hand sides and offers excellent visibility from the driver’s position. The extra-wide distribution door combined with the variable feed conveyor speed guarantees an even feed-out. As an option, the SPW Intense can be equipped with left and right rear doors for sheds with no separate exit and secondary belts for the highest troughs.

CCI: instant fingertip control!

The driver's cab on the SPW Intense is fitted with the KUHN CCI terminal. With its colour touch screen, it centralises all functional data and information relating to weight controls. One glance at the screen gives the driver all the information needed for operation: 100% useful technology. The CCI terminal also manages machine maintenance data such as periodic servicing operations as well as all diagnostic assistance interfaces. With the CCI, you can also instantaneously adjust the speed of the milling head, the rotation speed of the mixing auger and the speed of the feed conveyor. For feed data management, the CCI can hold up to 80 rations with 15 different ingredients. It memorises up to ten feed batches by name. Data transfer via a USB port to the farm’s computer guarantees traceability of all operations.

Full suspension

A fully suspended frame, composed of two independent suspended axle shafts at the front with high clearance, and leaf-spring suspension at the rear, give the machine exceptional tractive performance. Comfort is optimal!

Manoeuvrability

For tight buildings, the SPW Intense models can be optionally equipped with a rear steering axle. Turning angles are considerably reduced as a result.
