GF 5203, GF 5903, GF 6503, GF 7803, and GF 7903 tedders are simple, hydraulic-folding, cost-effective tools with 4 to 8 rotors and working widths from 5.20 m to 7.80 m. They are the perfect machine for farmers with relatively small areas to ted annually. The compact machine has been specially designed for optimum road safety. KUHN's DIGIDRIVE system and rotor gearboxes are lubed-for-life, keeping maintenance time down to a minimum. Opt for a large-rotor tedder to work in long and dense fodder, or a small-rotor tedder for short fodder, with uniform crop-turning and faster drying. GF 8703 and GF 10803 tedders feature 8 and 10 rotors respectively, and work at widths of 8.70 m and 10.80 m. Narrow plots and points are no trouble thanks to the HLC rotor-lift system (Headland Lift Control). Simply activate the valve to lift all rotors to minimum 50 cm from the ground, in less than 5 seconds. The HLC system also comes as an option on the GF 7903 model.
This entire range of tedders is equipped with the same tried-and-tested components that have made KUHN tedders the must-have tool, in terms of fodder quality and compact design, for many years.

Quick and easy manoeuvres

Ultra-compact for greater safety on the road

50 cm in less than 5 s with the HLC (Headland Lift Control) system

Take advantage of the speed of the HLC rotor-lift system at headlands. The central rotors on GF 8703 and GF 10803 tedders lift to a clearance height of 50 cm, and the outer rotors lift even higher. This system is also available as an option on the GF 7903 model.

An easy-to-handle machine for faster output and increased working comfort:
  • Reverse into points.
  • Your headland turns are made easy.
  • Drive between your field patches without folding your machine. Ditches are no longer a problem!
High rotor clearance prevents fodder from getting wound round when manoeuvring over large windrows.
Fodder is tedded once only at headlands and drying time is uniform over the whole plot.

Ultra-compact for greater safety on the road

Hitch GF 8703 and GF 10803 tedders to tractors from 80 hp.
Designed to save space and for easy handling on the road and in the shed.
The width and height do not exceed standard road dimensions (3 metres wide, and 3.35 and 3.65 metres high respectively for the GF 8703 and GF 10803).
Entering plots is easy thanks to the shorter length and high under-rotor clearance. The patented linkage system between the headstock and the beam ensure:

Good load transfer between the machine and the tractor.

The GF 10803 tedder is the most compact on the market. It is capable of operating at speeds of up to 10 ha/h.

Transport comfort and safety for the GF 5203, GF 5903, and GF 6503

Simply activate the hydraulic valve to fold the outer rotors and take to the road at a width of less than 3.00 m (2.53 for the GF 5903).
These tedders are equipped with lighting and signalling panels, as standard, for safety on the road.
Driving comfort is second to none, and entering the tightest plots is no problem. Machine height is reasonably low. The position and the centre of gravity are close to the tractor which reduces overhang and improves driving comfort.

Uncompromising stability for the GF 7803 and GF 7903

Despite their large working width of 7.80 m, the 6 and 8 rotors on GF 7803 and GF 7903 tedders fold to make the tool sufficiently compact for road travel and to access narrow plots (less than 3 m wide, and 3.36 m and 2.95 m high respectively).
The exclusive and patented stabilising system on these tedders feature powerful springs and hydraulic shock absorbers. With an unrivalled suspension system and driving comfort, these tedders are perfect for high-speed tractors. The rotors remain stable and neatly aligned behind the tractor, even when braking suddenly and on bends:
The hydraulic shock absorber stabilises the machine when turning in the field. When raised, the tedder is automatically and gently centred by two large shock absorbers.
The integrated springs provide machine flexibility while maintaining it in the best tedding position.
Integrated silent-blocks absorb the bumps on the road and the shock absorbers control the machine's movements.

DIGIDRIVE finger coupling: the revolution

When KUHN invented this drive concept, tedding entered a new age.
From then on, it became possible to power many rotors, and to fold them into an extremely compact unit, completely maintenance free. A true revolution!
Since the launch of the DIGIDRIVE system with fingers, over a million rotors have been tedding fodder, all over the world, with exceptional reliability. The DIGIDRIVE system is made of case-hardened steel and requires no maintenance.

Rotor housings designed to last

Guidance is by large double-row angular ball bearings. Thoroughly sealed rotor gearbox prevents lubricant leakage and the introduction of impurities. The attachment system to the rectangular frame is robust, with spacers housing long connecting screws. With these rotor gearboxes, greasing is limited to a relatively few pivot points.

Deflector plates for clean wheels

Operating in young, sugar-rich, or long, late-season fodder can be tricky if it gets wound around the wheel columns. This inevitably leads to downtime to solve the problem. Therefore, deflector plates are fitted as standard (except on the GF 5203 model) to prevent fodder from wrapping around the wheel columns.

The OPTITEDD rotor lasts twice as long

The OPTITEDD rotor increases the strength and durability of the working parts. The design of the rotor, the arms, and the tines, make the machine more robust, enabling it to work in the most extreme conditions (heavy fodder, stony land, etc.). With OPTITEDD, you lengthen the service life of your machine.

The rotor design and more rigid baseplate greatly reduce vibrations. The baseplate and arm are press-formed to ensure a robust connection: no risk of wear over time.

The Heavy-Duty tines on this new rotor have a service life that is twice as long as standard models. The 10 mm tine diameter and 4 large-diameter coils (80 mm) contribute to significantly reducing tine fatigue while maintaining the required flexibility. Tedding quality is preserved while stress and strain on the tines is reduced in heavy fodder.

Tine deflectors eliminate the load on the tine arms, and prevent fodder from riding up and winding round the rotor tines. The « anti-loss » function prevents losing tines in the fodder which could damage the machines that follow and pollute the ration.

Speed up drying

The experts are convinced; small-diameter rotors, produce higher quality fodder. The 5 following models are equipped with small rotors: GF 5903, GF 6503, GF 7903, GF 8703, and GF 10803.
According to the German Chamber of Agriculture, Weser Ems, drying time is 33% faster. The experts at the DLG (technical agricultural organisation), reported that the crop is turned completely, and the fodder is spread uniformly.
The farmers that use them can no longer do without them. The many benefits of small rotors are indispensable for producing top quality fodder.
Work with a wide pitch angle to pick up all of the fodder, and benefit from:

Individual rotor articulations, with equal spacing between them, and asymmetrical tines, ensure that all of the fodder is processed. This is also the case in long and dense fodder, as well as on uneven land. It takes just 2 minutes to adjust the pitch angle of the rotors to adapt to forage density, with no tools required.

GF 5203 and GF 7803: large diameter rotors

Being equipped with four or six rotors with seven tine arms, GF 5203 and GF 7803 tedders are the ideal machines for spreading out the crop from large swaths.
The large-diameter rotors have been specially designed to handle long, woody and dense fodder. These machines also provide an excellent working width to cost ratio.

Full pick-up with asymmetrical tines

The asymmetrical tine length, with a longer outer tine, offers certain advantages for quality tedding. Compared to a symmetrical design, the outer tine engages the fodder sooner. This ensures complete fodder pickup, even at field edges, but also between the rotors, with better tine coverage in this sensitive area. Working the fodder earlier means that the effective working width of each rotor, and therefore of the machine, is greater.

Quality fodder even on wedge-shaped fields

The HLC system considerably improves the reactions of the tedder when it comes to reversing and maneuvering to ensure the quality of your fodder, on the entire plot, even in the narrowest fields. The height of the HLC rotor lifting system impresses and allows:
Easy crossing over bulky fodder without the risk of it building up around the wheels. Fodder is turned over only once, avoiding multiple pickup on headlands.
Reversing on uneven terrain without moving impurities (earth, stones) into the fodder.
The HLC system on the GF 10803 tedder makes it possible to pass over the fodder without touching it.
