Your benefits

Optimal forage quality for the livestock

The LIFT-CONTROL suspension allows the mower unit to adapt to changing ground conditions.

Clean fodder thanks to the hydro-pneumatic LIFT-CONTROL lightening system

The hydro-pneumatic LIFT-CONTROL suspension system with an accumulator replaces the traditional spring system. Efficient and constant suspension ensures a constant cutting height, reduces the tractive effort, protects the crop and the introduction of impurities into the swath is controlled.

Good ground contor following

Front mowing units must be flexible in order to adapt smoothly to all terrain variations. At the same time, they are often exposed to extreme loads. KUHN's FC front mowing units are designed to cope with this. The kinematics of the front-mounted mower-conditioners incorporate two robust lower links mounted on large ball joints. The pivoting points of the rods on the tractor side are closer to the ground than those at the front. This dynamic load on the mower unit provides the mowing unit with a high degree of ground contour following, especially in hilly terrain. The mower unit is also equipped with a pendulum joint and can be moved in all directions. It can be swivelled from left to right at an angle of up to 30° and can be moved vertically by up to 70 cm!
Thanks to the pendulum joint, the mower unit adapts to changing ground conditions

A perfect cut thanks to the OPTIDISC ELITE

The new OPTIDISC ELITE cutterbar has been developed in cooperation with farmer users. The variable disc spacing, large cutting overlap and low mowing angle provide the desired mowing quality. Equipped with this cutterbar with the lastest updates, the FC 3125 F and 3525 F ensure clean and even mowing in all situations. The OPTIDISC ELITE cutterbar is equipped with several exclusive features:
  • Where the discs diverge, the distance between them is reduced to encourage the knives to overlap. The mowing pattern is clean and neat, even in short or light forage. (A)
  • At the point where the discs converge, the spacing is increased to provide more space for the crop flow. It is quickly discharged to the rear, so that the mower's work is not disrupted. (B)
  • An area of overcutting that almost doubles its surface area for better quality cutting in wet and sticky soils (or presence of molehills) or in heavy and poured forages, plant cover harvested in late fall.
  • A lower angle of cut: in close mowing, this prevents a mowing profile with typical undulations. This also promotes faster, uniform regrowth and easier adjustment of subsequent machines.
  • New disc bearings with a unique shape and mounting always ensure that the knives are securely held in place during and impact and can be rotated through 360°.
In hilly terrain, wet conditions or sticky grass, soil can accumulate at front of the cutterbar, but not with OPTIDISC ELITE! Its specific skids improve the ground contor following and preserve the grass stubble. This can alos protect the quality of the forage, especially in difficult conditions.

DIGIDRY steel fingers for performance in a variety of conditions

The steel tine conditioner is very efficient in heavy, long or mature forage but also in short forage as it has a good throughput capacity. Can I have the french please - this does not make sense The power absorbed by this type of conditioner is limited thanks to the reduced time spent in the machine components and the absence of recycling. Well formed and aerated swaths are clearly the result of this steel finger conditioner. The position of the fingers causes the crop to swell and send it upwards before it falls back into the swath. The crop is optimally ventilated and is therefore richer in energy and nutrients thanks to the accelerated drying process.
The steel tines can also work in lucerne with the right conditioner setting.
You can adjust the conditioning intensity:
  • By adjusting the deflector plate.
  • The conditioner rotation frequency can be selected.

SQUAREFLEX polyurethane rollers for delicate forage

Tests carried out by Arvalis (French agronomic institute), the Chamber of Agriculture and the FD machinery cooperative highlighted the drying curves of different mower-conditioners (finger or roller, in plastic or steel). The mower-conditioner with the SQUAREFLEX polyurethane roller came out top with over 80% of DM by the second evening compared to the third evening with other methods.
Specific SQUAREFLEX roller treads in the polyurethane, grip the crop with a regular movement, no matter which direction the crop is leaning. Pressure is adjusted between the rollers with an easily accessible adjustment screw. In addition, the gap between the rollers can be widened to let foreign bodies pass through.
Both rollers are driven by a gearbox (no chains or belts!) They are synchronised for life: longer service life and no maintenance, Both rollers rotate at 780 min-1 to ensure optimum functioning in all conditions, with delicate forage as well as in ryegrass, sorghum and immature crops...
The SQUAREFLEX roller conditioner is ideal for fragile forage

Save time and money

Breakage of the shaft supporting the disc as a result of a violent impact, thus protecting the gears

A reliable mower in all circumstances

The cutter bar has been designed to handle obstacles. With the PROTECTADRIVE safety system, in case of a very violent impact between the disc and an obstacle, the shaft holding the disc shears above the housing thanks to a cleverly dimensioned shear groove. Therefore the gearwheels are protected son in less than 15 minutes, the machine is operational again and at a very low repair cost.
The housing attachment is ensured by long screws, passing through the cutter bar. Any risk of housings being ripped off in the event of shock is prevented.
High-end components reinforce the core of the cutter bar:
  • Cutter bar with special double row oblique contact ball bearings.
  • Large diameter gearwheels in high precision forged steel with 3 cogs engaged.
  • Discs with forged and treated cups over the whole surface area.
  • Disc skids in treated steel with the possibility of adding protective lining (attachment via screws).
To increase the machine's service life, rubber mounts are integrated between the cutter bar and the frame. Shocks have less impact on the machine's structure while mowing at high ground speed.

Fast maintenance with the FAST-FIT fastening system

The FC 1025 F mower conditioners are equipped as standard with the FAST-FIT quick knife attachment system, which provides 3 additional guarantees:
  • A powerful spring-loaded blade ensures constant pressure on the knife holding pin: and it is not braked.
  • The knife holding pins have a groove and a shoulder for extra safety.
  • The spring blade can only be deflected downwards when it is above the recess in the skid.
Thus, when the disc is rotating, there is no danger of it opening. In order to reduce maintenance costs, the retaining screw and the spring blade can be replaced separately. The cutting quality remains excellent thanks to the compactness of the cutter bar and the exclusive shape of the blades which pass as close as possible to the skids.
The FAST-FIT mounting system allows you to change knives quickly and safely.

Flexible side impact protection

The FLEXPROTECT polyethylene side guard can deform when encountering obstacles without breaking or damaging the mower. It returns to its original shape once the obstacle has been passed. You will save repair costs thanks to this exclusive part.
FLEXPROTECT external side guard protects the FC 3125 F mower conditioner against obstacles

A mower easily adaptable to your plot of land

Combine your FC 3125 F front mower-conditioner with an FC rear mower-conditioner

Benefit from a wide and modular cover

The overlap between the rear units can be adjusted with a maximum of 19 cm offset for a clean cut on slopes and in curves. The maximum overlap is between 240 and 645 mm depending on the type of rear machine and the width of the front implement. This is a real advantage for tractors with tracks or wide tyres.

Quick and easy adjustments

The ground pressure is easily adjusted via a hydraulic suspension system, which keeps it at the right level. At the end of the field, the front unit is lifted by the means of an integrated cylinder. The FC front mounted models with DIGIDRY steel finger conditioners are equipped with a gear lever for easy selection of the conditioning rotor speed (755 or 1000 min-1). If you choose the models with the SQUAREFLEX roller conditioner, you will have a central pressure adjustment allowing you to reach up to 500 kg of pressure per metre of rollers if necessary.
The mower unit is lifted by an integrated cylinder at the end of the field.

Manoeuvrability and visibility

For added comfort and visibility, hydraulic folding of the side guards and side view mirrors is available as optional equipment.
