Your benefits
Increase output and stay in control
HR 1030 R, HR 1040 R and HR 1042 R foldable power harrows, with working widths of 5 to 8 m, are an efficient solution for field-crop farms looking for high output. They are designed for high-powered tractors. Maximum power varies between 350 and 500 hp depending on the model.
Compatible with different hitch types
These power harrows are compatible with cat. 3 and 4N hitches (and 4 for HR 1040 R models). The central gearbox is positioned towards the rear to increase the length of the PTO shaft and reduce working angles: an asset for tractors equipped with large-diameter wheels.
Greater output, still in control!
An oil cooler protects the central gearbox against overheating. The oil cooler is insensitive to dust and lengthens the life of the oil for less frequent changes. With its integrated pump, it is activated automatically with the PTO, the user does not need to switch it on! The entire drive train is protected against overloads by one or two torque limiters (depending on the model). The KTS 20 terminal, which comes as standard on HR 1040 R and HR 1042 R power harrows and as an option on HR 1030 R, enables the parameters to be monitored from the tractor cab.
Quick and easy adaptation to working conditions
Quick and easy adjustment
One plot can contain different soil textures. To produce optimum output, the machine needs to be adjusted quickly and easily. Working-depth and levelling-bar adjustment on HR 1030 R power harrows is either centralised manual or hydraulic directly from the tractor cab. These adjustments adapt the power requirement. The hydraulic settings come as standard on power harrows in the HR 1040 R and HR 1042 R ranges. A graduated scale is visible, for your comfort, from the driver's seat.
In rigid or float position
Composed of two half-harrows, these power harrows can work in rigid or float position. In the latter position, each half-harrow can raise 2.5°, independently, to follow the ground contours. Both half-harrows are positioned very closely to each other to avoid the formation of non-crumbled ridges between them. An optional central share can be placed in front of the gap between the two half-harrows for a perfect result over the whole working width.
Optimum crumbling
The Duplex gearbox has changeable gearwheels so the speed of the rotos can be adapted to working conditions and desired results. A wide range of rotation speeds enables adaptation to different conditions.
A wide choice of rollers for efficient tamping
Whether your soil is light, heavy, dry, or wet, KUHN has the solution! HR 1030 R, HR 1040 R and HR 1042 R power harrows can work with MAXICRUMBLER (Ø 520 mm), MAXIPACKER (Ø 535 mm) and MEGAPACKER (Ø 590 mm) rollers. The MAXICRUMBLER roller is light and used mainly for soil preparation in the spring or summer on dry or slightly sticky soil. The versatile MAXIPACKER is capable of working in wet and sticky conditions. The MEGAPACKER is recommended for light, chalky, chalky-clay and silt-clay soils as its large diameter gives it excellent bearing capacity. It is easier to pull in light soils and tamps the land efficiently. HR 1040 R power harrows are also compatible with the STEELLINER (Ø 550 mm) roller.
Perfect levelling
The angle of the levelling bar on HR 1040 R power harrows can be adjusted to adapt to working conditions and to manage fuel consumption more easily. Three positions are available:
The levelling bar is indexed to the roller for quick and independent adjustment of working depth.
- close to the rotors for intensive work in very heavy soils,
- tilted to the rear for light seedbed preparation,
- intermediate position.

Robust design and time savings on maintenance
Perfect adaptation to varying ground conditions
The design of the high-strength steel housing and the lubed-for-life gears and bearings make KUHN maintenance-free rotos highly resistant. The rounded shape of the forged and treated steel gears eliminates any overhang on the bearings. The large bearings are secured by a calibrated spacer. They are aligned and secured perfectly to protect them against wear and deformation. The conical centring of the blade holder prevents any play in the splines.
FAST-FIT DURAKUHN tines as standard
These power harrows are equipped with carbide-coated DURAKUHN tines, as standard, for extra resistance to impacts and wear. For an even longer life, DURAKARB tines, with tungsten carbide plates, are available as an option. The FAST-FIT attachment system reduces replacement time to a minimum. The angle of the levelling bar has three positions for precise adjustment of crumbling:
In addition, the levelling bar is indexed to the roller for quick and independent adjustment of working depth.
- close to the rotors for intensive work in very heavy soils,
- tilted to the rear for light seedbed preparation.
