A series of treatments are undertaken to ensure strength and resistance to impact and wear, resulting in a long life. These include cathodic coating to improve corrosion resistance, the subjection to extreme pressures and temperatures for many hours to test endurance and durability, effective lubrication and regular maintenance in-line with KUHN recommendations.

Before being machined, steel undergoes strict checks to verify its chemical composition and mechanical characteristics.
