Soil Preparation

The physical, chemical and biological condition of soil can have a significant impact on farm income by affecting crop yields. This is why KUHN soil preparation tools help you get the most out of your soil. This may involve restructuring, stubble ploughing with tined tools and/or discs and preparing the seed bed before seeding operations.

 

Disc Tools
KUHN’s DISCOVER and OPTIMER machines use concave discs to promote the decomposition of plant residues by mixing soil and straw residues together. The OPTIMER range is designed for working at shallow soil depths whilst the DISCOVER range is designed for working at deeper soil depths.

Folding Power Harrows
The design of KUHN’s rotary harrows, with bevelled blades and specially designed body shape, ensures the preparation of seedbeds for dynamic crop germination. These extremely versatile tools offer a high level of user comfort and are available in large width and folding versions.

Power Tillers
Preparation of the seedbed with power tillers is crucial in order to promote dynamic crop germination. KUHN produces three different types of power tiller to suit a range of different soil conditions – the CULTIROTOR, CULTITILLER and CULTIPLOW.
