Tractor-mounted Primor 2060 |
The tractor-mounted Primor 2060 is designed for all bale formats. Based on the same robust design characteristics as the established trailed models, this machine is capable of chopping and distributing long-fibre forages such as big bale hay, silage and haylage, as well as clamp silage and straw. Rectangular bales measuring up to 2.7 metres in length and round bales of up to 1.8 metres in diameter can be accommodated.
The key to the Primor’s versatility is a robust two-speed gearbox. This is typically operated at its lower rate mainly for silage and at the faster rate when distributing straw. Power is transmitted from the gearbox through a shaft, which in turn drives Kuhn’s patented Polydrive power-band system which is engaged/disengaged using a hydraulic cylinder. The power band is significant, as it provides high horse power transmission to the distribution beater rotor, whilst also acting as a safety device.A bed chain operates independently to draw material into the beater rotor. This can be operated at varying speeds, and put into reverse, to control the flow of material into the distribution area. The feed rotor performs a chopping function to break down long fibre forage before it reaches the turbine, and regulating tines are fitted to spread fodder over the entire width of the machine to ensure an even supply.
Distribution of both straw and silage is via a single multi-purpose chute, which is situated over the turbine. This chute has the capability of blowing straw up to 18 metres, making bedding of the largest sheds quick and efficient. The chute on the Primor 2060 can be converted retrospectively to a 300 degree rotating chute, with the addition of an optional motor, to allow distribution to either side of the machine and/or into the less accessible corners.
The rear door of the Primor is dished and hydraulically controlled, allowing self-loading if required. All functions, including the loading gate, Polydrive and the chute, are controlled electronically, from the tractor cab.
Kuhn recommends a minimum tractor horsepower requirement of 70 hp for the Primor 2060. |
