KUHN at Agritechnica 2011 - new lines in cultivation

KUHN has developed its shallow cultivator range with the addition of the OPTIMER + in mounted and trailed formats. Available in 3, 4, 6 and 7.5 metre working width formats, this machine is designed as an independent disc tool for shallow stubble cultivation as part of a minimum tillage system.

OPTIMER +

Compared with earlier versions of the machine, the OPTIMER + has improved clearance and new disc angles to allow greater passage of plant residues. There is also a choice of discs, with the standard 510mm diameter notched and curved version offering increased versatility and an option of conical discs (also 510mm) with smaller notches for shallower work.

The OPTIMER + is designed for reduced maintenance with the disc hubs lubricated for life and fitted with double-row angular contact ball bearings.

New to KUHN’s semi-mounted reversible plough range is the single wheel Multi-Leader, positioned as a high output machine for medium to high power tractors.

Available in 6, 7 and 8 furrow formats, the Multi-Leader covers the 135 – 300 hp tractor power range, and – with a 110 degree turning radius – has great manoeuvrability on headlands. All models are available with multiple working widths (35, 40, 45 and 50 cm per body). The Z-frame design means there is very little wheel overhang during work at field edges and also allows the potential to fit wide tyres of up to 1200mm diameter, thereby offering good carrying capacity.

Multi-Leader

The Multi-Leader has a large offset range, with the adjustment made by sliding the drawbar to change the wheel spacing between 1.15m and 1.6m. Working depth adjustment is set simply by using spacers on the lift cylinder at the wheel. Underbeam clearance is 80cm and point-to-point clearance 102cm.

All models of the Multi-Leader are available with a choice of either Traction Bolt (T) or Non-Stop Hydraulic (NSH) safety system.

The Multi-Leader extends a semi-mounted plough range that already includes the Vari-Timer, Manager, Vari-Manager and Challenger models, suitable for tractors from 80 to 420 hp, with the Challenger available at up to 12 bodies. Kuhn’s fully mounted reversible plough range includes the Multi-Master and Vari-Master models, suitable for tractors from 60 to 280 hp, from 3 to 7 bodies.
