The Combi-Liner all terrain drilling option typically brings together deep soil preparation, seedbed preparation and drilling in a single pass.
As the first component of this combination, the Cultisoil soil loosener restructures the ground by moving it in a “wave effect” and reduces the power demand from the following cultivator. This leads to a net increase in efficiency, shown as swifter cultivation, fuel savings, reduced wear, or a combination of these factors.
When used in combination with a power harrow or power tiller, this increases fuel economy and reduces tractor power requirement for primary cultivations.
Comprising of hardened steel shares which are adjustable down to a 300mm working depth and effective across the full width of the frame, the Cultisoil is designed to form a compact unit in front of Kuhn’s HR power harrows or EL power tillers. It can also be used with the company’s powered cultivator/drill combinations for surface ploughing, secondary tillage and sowing in a single pass.
Compact design keeps additional overhang to a minimum, so lifting requirement is only marginally increased and front axle ballast is not significantly affected.
A choice of Kuhn Cultitiller or HR power harrow for the primary cultivation extends the flexibility of the Combi-Liner all terrain drilling options. The Cultitiller is adaptable for any situation, and is capable of dealing with large quantities of plant debris or hard soils, using the pick-axe position of its blades. The new Optimix tine option on Kuhn’s HR power harrows is designed to improve operations in hard soils or where ground is covered in plant debris.
When it comes to drilling, the availability of discs as an alternative to coulters allows seeding into crop residues and cover crops, with reduced power requirement.
All terrain drilling combinations including the Cultisoil, Cultitiller or HR power harrows and Venta LC drills are currently available in 3m and 4m working widths.
